After two years of extensive refurbishment, Off The Streets announced the official opening of its new homeless shelter. Located in a former hotel on Trinity Avenue, the shelter will provide round-the-clock support for up to nine individuals experiencing homelessness, including couples and those with disabilities.
Despite significant setbacks, voluntary organisation Off The Streets, persevered and successfully completed the shelter which will provide bedrooms and wash facilities, on-site support and accessible accommodation.
Off The Streets has also been active in supporting rough sleepers during the shelter’s construction, operating a temporary night shelter at Westcliff Baptist Church from July to December 2024. During this period, the charity rehoused 59 people and expanded its team of dedicated volunteers.
Off The Streets extends heartfelt thanks to all supporters, donors, and partners who have made this initiative possible and members of The Tudwick Foundation have been pleased to contribute to this worthwhile project.
