Thanks to grant funding from The Tudwick Foundation, Leap Pathways CIC has successfully developed and delivered dedicated monthly SEN sessions in a natural outdoor setting, creating a calm, safe and supportive environment for children with special educational needs and their families.
Held at The Hive in Southend, activities are sensory-based, child-led and centred around nature, enabling children to engage at their own pace within a predictable and supportive routine. Alongside supporting children, the project has also focused on parents and caregivers by creating opportunities for positive shared experiences and helping families build valuable peer connections with others facing similar challenges.
The grant has enabled Leap Pathways to make their outdoor learning programme more inclusive and accessible, ensuring that children with SEN and their families can enjoy the benefits of nature-based activities in an environment where they feel understood, supported and able to thrive.
