Investing in Confidence, Attendance and Opportunity

For many families, the cost of school uniform can be a significant challenge. Through our assistance to Packed with Smiles charity in Southend, our funding of £1,500 has ensured that children received the items they needed to feel prepared, included and ready to learn. Support ranged from individual items such as school jumpers or PE equipment to larger uniform packages tailored to each child's circumstances.

While a school uniform may seem like a simple item, its impact reaches far beyond clothing. Feedback gathered from schools supported by the charity reported impressive statistics showing that attendance, confidence, social interactions, behaviour and academic achievement were all improved after receiving a donation. When children have the basic essentials they need, barriers to education are reduced, confidence grows, and opportunities open up.

We are delighted that this grant has helped children across Southend feel a stronger sense of belonging and enabled families to engage more positively with their schools. Thank you to everyone involved in delivering this vital support and helping ensure that every child can start the school day with confidence.
