With a little help from The Tudwick Foundation, a charity supporting people with kidney cancer, has moved into a dedicated rental unit in Chelmsford. The move last December marks a major improvement in the charity’s ability to operate efficiently, providing a safe and secure space for storage and the day-to-day management of its initiatives.

The new premises offer an ideal environment for the preparation of the charity's core provision of care packs and comfort cushions, ensuring all essential supplies are well-organized and readily available. This move has also strengthened the sense of community among Flutter’s valued volunteers, including the Sewing Bees, who the craft cushion covers and care bags. Many of these volunteers, particularly those from rural areas or living with disabilities, have expressed how their involvement with Flutter positively impacts their mental health and overall well-being.

With the additional space, Flutter is now able to welcome new volunteers and visitors, further increasing awareness and support for kidney cancer patients. The charity has already seen a growing number of returning visitors who have become actively involved in the charity’s activities.

Since December, Flutter has delivered 283 care bags and 128 comfort cushions to kidney cancer patients. Both patients and hospital staff have expressed their deep gratitude for this support, as reflected in the many heartfelt emails received by the charity. These messages reinforce the impact of Flutter’s work and the importance of continuing to provide comfort and essential resources to those in need.
