At The Tudwick Foundation, we’re proud to support initiatives that make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people. One such project, led by The London Bus Theatre Company, exemplifies the impact that thoughtful, creative investment can have on individuals and communities alike.
In February 2025, we awarded a £3,000 grant to support their Bronze Arts Award programme which is an innovative project aimed at engaging young people aged 13-17 from hard-to-reach groups, including those with special educational needs (SEN), young carers, and those not in education, employment or training (NEET).
The outcomes have been outstanding. Every young participant successfully completed their Bronze Arts Award qualification, gaining valuable experience in the arts and developing transferable life skills. With support from the Arts Council and significant in-kind contributions from the organisation, the programme delivered an average of 42 hours of enriching activity over six months, covering art forms such as dance, singing, drama, photography, and editing.
The benefits extended far beyond qualifications. Participants reported increased confidence, improved communication skills, and a stronger sense of community belonging. Impressively, four young people secured part-time employment during the programme, citing their Arts Award experience in interviews.
Community-wide impacts were also noted, 100% of participants said they felt less isolated as a result of the project and local residents commented that the project gave the area a real boost.
We commend The London Bus Theatre Company for their dedication and creativity, and we look forward to seeing these young people continue to grow and thrive.
